How to Bet on CS2 in Malaysia: BLAST, IEM & Majors Betting Guide
CS2 is the game I respect most as a betting market, which is also why it's the one I'm most careful with. The top of the scene — NaVi, Vitality, MOUZ, FaZe — is well-researched by European bettors who follow the game closely. The odds on these teams are usually priced fairly. Where the market gets interesting is in specific match conditions: map vetoes, recent LAN vs online form, and individual player momentum.
This guide covers how to approach CS2 betting as a Malaysian player who probably doesn't follow the EU scene daily but wants to bet intelligently.

CS2 has the densest competitive calendar of any esport. The main circuits:
- CS2 Majors — Two per year, run by Valve, the most prestigious events. 1,250 ranking points on offer. The group stage has some of the best value in CS2 betting — less efficient pricing than the playoff rounds.
- BLAST Premier — Year-round league with Spring/Fall groups, Spring/Fall Finals, and World Final. Reliable market coverage at 96M for all stages.
- IEM (Intel Extreme Masters) — PGL and ESL run multiple IEM events: IEM Katowice, IEM Cologne, IEM Dallas. Cologne is the biggest. Strong market depth.
- EWC 2026 (live now) — CS2 is in the EWC 2026 lineup in Riyadh. Full coverage at 96M. EWC 2026 hub.
Teams to Know
The top of CS2 is a fairly stable group of Western EU and CIS teams. NaVi (with s1mple's legacy baked into their culture) has been rebuilt around new cores but remains one of the most-followed brands. Team Vitality, consistently the highest-ranked French org, has had back-to-back Major runs. MOUZ and FaZe are the other top-five fixtures.
For Majors specifically, the challenger stage introduces teams from smaller regions — APAC, South America, Oceania. These teams have legitimate upsets on record against EU favourites, often because the maps go to their comfort pool. Worth paying attention to in the early rounds.
Markets Worth Using
- Round Handicap — My preferred CS2 market. A Bo1 map goes to 16 rounds (or 13-1 in OT). If one team is clearly stronger, the -4.5 or -5.5 round handicap on the favourite often gives better value than match winner.
- Pistol Round Winner — Pistol rounds (round 1 CT and round 1 T) are coin flips on paper but not in practice. Teams with strong pistol players and practiced pistol setups win this consistently. Check each team's pistol round win rate on the specific map before betting.
- Map Winner — In a Bo3, each map can be bet independently. Useful when you think a team wins the series but loses a specific map in their opponent's comfort pick.
- Match Winner — Simplest, but in CS2 upsets happen at every event. Line shopping matters here more than in other games — check if the odds have moved since lineup confirmation.
- Over/Under Total Rounds — Close-matched teams push the over; stomp scenarios go under. Best used when you have a clear read on how aggressive both teams play on a given map.
CS2-Specific Betting Notes
- Map pool knowledge is non-negotiable — CS2 maps are not interchangeable. Teams have clearly strong and weak maps. A team favoured in match winner markets might be a dog on the specific map the veto produces. Check map win rates before placing.
- LAN form vs online form — Some teams perform significantly better or worse on LAN. The Majors and IEM events are LAN. BLAST group stages have online components. A team's recent results should be filtered by format.
- Individual player peaks matter — CS2 has single-player carrying potential more than most team games. If s1mple or ZywOo is in a form streak coming into an event, that shifts the ceiling for their team noticeably.
- Early-round Major group stage is the best value — The first two days of a Major group stage have the least efficient odds. Bookmakers are catching up on form; informed bettors who know the teams have an edge here.
