How to Bet on League of Legends: Worlds, LCK & LPL Betting Guide

League of Legends is the most-watched esport globally, which means it's also the most-bet. That creates an efficient market for the top LCK and LPL teams — T1, Gen.G, JDG, BLG are priced within a few percentage points of where they should be at most events. LoL's structure is built around regional splits feeding into two annual international events:

• Worlds — The year-end world championship. The biggest LoL event, typically held in a rotating host city. LCK and LPL have dominated every Worlds since 2017. The play-in stage has underdog value; the main event less so.
• MSI (Mid-Season Invitational) — Mid-year international. Smaller than Worlds but still the second most important LoL event. Regional champions qualify.
• Regional leagues — LCK (Korea), LPL (China), LEC (Europe), LCS (North America), PCS (Pacific), LCO (Oceania). Most betting coverage focuses on LCK and LPL given their dominance.

The LCK vs LPL Dynamic

The international meta has shifted back and forth between Korean and Chinese dominance over the years. T1 (Faker's org) is the most storied team in LoL history with four World titles. Gen.G has been consistently top-four. On the LPL side, JDG and BLG have been the main title contenders in recent years.

For betting purposes: LCK teams tend to play slower, more calculated macro games. LPL teams are more aggressive and variable. • First Blood — Aggressive, level-1 teams and junglers with early-game skew push this. LPL teams have a higher first blood rate on average than LCK teams.
• Match Winner — Fine for lopsided matchups, but mid-tier vs mid-tier LCK/LPL matches are hard to call. Use handicap or prop markets here instead.
• Game Handicap — If you think a team wins 2-0 in a Bo3, the -1.5 game line pays noticeably better. LoL series do go 2-0 fairly often when one team is clearly stronger.
• Tournament Outright — At Worlds, LCK/LPL teams are priced accurately. Value exists in play-in stage outrights for underseeded PCS or LCO teams if you follow Pacific LoL.

LoL Betting Notes

• Patch releases change everything fast — LoL patches every two weeks. A champion getting buffed can move from fringe pick to must-ban in days. If a team's best players are on champions that got nerfed going into a major event, their win probability drops.
• Draft composition tells you which props to bet — Once champion select is done (before game start), you can see whether a team is playing early-game vs late-game. Early-game compositions have higher first tower and first dragon rates. This is the most useful thing to know for live prop betting.
• Malaysian LoL has less depth than MLBB — There's no competitive Malaysian LoL team at the international level right now. Bet this game analytically, not emotionally. The edge comes from studying team patterns, not regional loyalty.
